Baniyas Mall Baniyas Investment and Development Company has announced that its shopping mall project is likely to be completed by the end of 2010. The company said 20% of work on the project is complete. Covering a design space of 148,000sqm, the mall will feature 339 retailers and 16 food outlets, including a hypermarket. It will also provide 2,245 parking spaces. Grand Cinemas are to install four screens with seating capacity for 1,200. The new Baniyas Shopping Mall is part of the first luxury mixed use development communities established in a central suburban region of Abu Dhabi’s Bani Yas City. Saunders Global have worked to translate the sites landscape, history, culture and symbolism into a design that not only highlights and works with the architectural features of the development, but also produces a highly successful retail space of great quality and sophistication. The interior design of Baniyas Shopping Centre merges modern urban design with innate elegance to create a prestigious development. Taking an all inclusive and informed approach, natural forms and materials have been used in ways that exemplify the history and culture of the area.
